More About Nicole

Nicole has been working with patients with cardiovascular disease. As a cardiovascular wellness clinician and certified nurse practitioner, Nicole is a strong believer in making prevention a priority. Nicole is experienced in all aspects of cardiovascular care and prevention to skilfully manage CVD risk using latest research.

She developed a Lipid Clinic for large cardiology practice after becoming a certified Clinical Lipid Specialist in 2012.  The results she achieved motivated her to dedicate herself to this endeavor and led to the development of the Arizona Center for Advanced Lipidology. 

Recognized as a specialist in Lipidology, Nicole spends much of her time providing education for patients and other healthcare providers.   She has spoken nationally and internationally on topics of management of acute coronary syndromes, and management of lipid disorders.  She has written articles on managing patients with lipid disorders and heart disease.

Nicole  is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse practitioners and certified Clinical Lipid Specialist.  After becoming a Lipid Specialist in 2012 she developed Lipid Clinic at Pima Heart, one of the largest cardiovascular practices in southwest Arizona. In 2015, she opened  Arizona Center for Advanced Lipidology (aka Arizona Lipid Center) where she been working as a Lipid Specialist.  She has over 20 years working in  cardiology in the office, skilled nursing facilities and hospital settings.

Nicole is an active member in professional organizations including American Society of Preventative Cardiology and National Lipid Association where she serves on multiple committees including conference planning committee. She has been a Board member and  past president of the Southwest Lipid Association.  She has authored multiple articles published in peer reviewed journals.  She is proud to have been given the honor of Fellow of the National Lipid Association and to be among the first to be inducted as an Associate of the American College of Cardiology.  She has been involved in clinical research as a principal investigator and study coordinator.  She has been selected as a community partner for the University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life Sciences where she collaborates with Nutritional Science and Wellness in the Food Bioactives and Health lab.   As a lipid specialist, she serves as a consultant and a speaker for other providers, organizations, CME events and the pharmaceutical industry.  

Because of Nicole’s interest in longevity and cardiovascular health she enjoys balancing work with an active lifestyle that includes hiking, dancing, weight training, personal nutrition, mindfulness and loves connecting with colleagues, family, friends and animals.
